My niece and nephew at my wedding. Aren't they cute?? :)
My twin nephews are so adorable I can hardly stand it!
A little about me...
This is my 14th year teaching at Crestdale. I graduated with a BA in English from Furman University. I would encourage anyone to go there as it is, in my unbiased opinion, one of the best universities in the country! I have enjoyed reading and writing since I can remember being able to read and write. My studies in school only cultivated this love. I have a great passion for both, which is why I not only teach them but also do them in my spare time on a regular basis. In my "free" moments, I love spending time with my family. We are a close-knit group, and they are definitely the best people on the planet. I was married in August of 2014 and still consider myself a newlywed in some ways. I enjoy music and drama, Netflix and Hulu, eating good food, and spending time at church. I am (more than) slightly addicted to texting. I like to keep busy and multi-task often.
My classroom is one where, above all, students will be cared for and respected. I believe that the kids who walk into my room are people first and students second. That being said, I will show interest in their lives even beyond their role as my students. I enjoy having fun as I teach, but that comes when I see my students are dedicated to doing the work and following the rules set. I do not tolerate disrespect or lack of effort. I put forth a great deal of energy to teach well, and I expect my students to demonstrate the same level of desire to learn. I welcome mistakes as a chance to grow; I truly believe that each and every student can show improvement. I hope my classroom will be an inviting one where they not only gain knowledge but learn to apply it and have a good time doing it! I look forward to a great year! (By the way...the meme below is 100% true.)
